We want to share the story behind why Karina, our CEO, was inspired to create this creamy, nourishing deodorant.

Why use a Cream Deodorant?
Using a cream deodorant is a new experience—one that emulates applying skincare to your underarms. It’s luxurious, with a smooth, creamy texture that dries to a fresh finish. It might be the excuse you needed to pay more attention to your underarms, which is always a good idea. Your underarms are an intimate area that allows you to sweat and contain a complex network of lymph nodes. As such, thinking about what you put on in that area is important. By choosing a natural deodorant with simple, clean ingredients, you are protecting and nurturing a sensitive and impactful part of your body.

Why did you want to make the Cream Deodorant?
I wanted to make the cream deodorant because we had so many customers asking for it, but I was hesitant at first because it was a new format I had never tried before. When I did eventually try it, I immediately fell in love.

How long did it take to create this recipe?
Formulating this particular product was actually very challenging. It took us about two and a half years mixing clays and oils to create the creamy, smooth texture that the cream deo has now. We also wanted to end with a dry finish and perfecting those attributes took us a very long time and many, many, many prototypes, before we finally achieved the formula we have now.

What are some of the hero ingredients in this formula?
Some of the important hero ingredients in the cream deodorant are Kaolin clay, arrowroot powder and magnesium hydroxide, each of which helps to give that dry, fresh finish and long-lasting protection. In addition to that, the product includes coconut oil and Abyssinian oil which are extremely nourishing for the skin.

Tell us about the scents.
There are some really exciting scents for you to try. Some of them are new additions to the Rocky family. We have Spruce Palo, Lemongrass, Neroli Jasmine, Tea Tree Mint and Vanilla Sage. And my personal favourite is the Vanilla Sage.

How has using a cream deodorant changed your routine?
When you use a cream deodorant, you feel like you're nurturing your body, like you're using a product that's specifically for that area. It's intimate and it's beautiful and it feels elevated. I was hesitant at first to use a cream deodorant because it felt different to dip your fingers into a jar and apply it to your underarm. The moment you do it, however, you're transformed. It feels like we're meant to be caring for that part of the body in that way. We should be touching our underarms—it's natural, it's beautiful, it's a part of loving your body.
