Arachidyl Alcohol

Arachidyl Alcohol

Arachidyl alcohol at Rocky Mountain Soap Company is not derived from a nut oil. The source vegetable oil is rapeseed seed (not Canola, which is a hybrid of rapeseed) and wheat seed. It is a common misconception that all arachidyl alcohol is made from peanuts, and we are putting that to rest for those concerned.

Arachidyl alcohol is a waxy substance made from vegetable oil that increases the viscosity (thickness) of a recipe. In our case it thickens up our sunscreen. Simple as that.
